Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Tips

Aims of tissue fixation:

• 1. Preventing tissues from dropping from slides;
• 2. Eliminating the lipoid which disrupts antigen-antibody binding;
• 3. For a better storage.

*As for the fixative, 4% of paraformaldehyde is widely used. However, for tissues like testis tissue or eyes, bouin's or mDF solutions might be better.
