Counterstaining:

In counterstaining, DAPI is commonly used to visualize cell profile to form a better contrast to the target antigen.

Mounting:

For a better storage we usually use glycerol buffer, or anti-fluorescence-quenching mounting medium. To prevent air bubbles, the method can be seen at Immunohistochemistry Tips for Mounting.
