Serum blocking:

To prevent non-specific binding induced by endogenous antigens, a serum blocking procedure is necessary prior to the primary antibody incubation. Generally, the serum should be from the same species with the secondary antibody. To efficiently reduce the staining background, the blocking time is better to be between 10 and 30 minutes.
